Another month means another update to UAE fuel prices is just around the corner.

The UAE will announce its fuel prices for August 2026 on Thursday July 31, with the new petrol and diesel rates coming into effect from Saturday August 1.

Following July’s price drop, many motorists will be wondering whether UAE fuel prices could fall again, or if they’ll head back up. While nothing has been confirmed yet, all eyes are on the end-of-month announcement from the UAE Fuel Price Committee.

Will petrol prices go up or down?

We’ll have to wait until the official announcement to know for certain, but there could be some movement in August after global oil prices climbed during July.

Brent crude, one of the world’s leading oil benchmarks, dipped below US$70 a barrel earlier this month before rebounding to around US$100. As international oil prices play a role in determining UAE fuel prices, motorists could see some changes at the pumps next month.

The official August petrol and diesel prices will be announced on Thursday July 31, before taking effect from Saturday August 1.

Current UAE fuel prices

These are the fuel prices motorists have been paying throughout July:

  • Special 95: Dhs3.29 per litre
  • E-Plus 91: Dhs3.21 per litre
  • Diesel: Dhs3.60 per litre

July brought some relief for drivers after fuel prices dropped across all grades compared to June, which saw some of the highest prices recorded this year.
