Космический аппарат Anik F1R предназначен для замены КА Anik F1. Космический аппарат изготовлен компанией EADS Astrium на базе платформы Eurostar-3000S. Масса космического аппарата 4480 кг. Срок активного существования на орбите не менее 15 лет. Располагаться спутник будет в точке 107,3 ° западной долготы. Он обеспечит надежный и качественный прием телевизионных программ в диапазонах частот - С и Кu. Зона обслуживания КА: Канада, Северная Америка (США, Мексика). Заказчиком и оператором космического аппарата является компания Telesat Canada. Компания Telesat Canada является частью корпорации BCE Media group.

12015-02-06. TelesatTelesat подписал соглашение с AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology. По условиям сделки, AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology должна будет использовать C емкость аппарата Anik F1R. В дополнение, AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology и Telesat должны будут совместно создать станцию по работе со спутниками в Нью-Йорке. Данное решение позволит сочетать возможности кабельного и спутникового провайдеров связи.
По условиям соглашения емкость Telesat будет являться ядром системы по распространению кабельного телевидения AMC Networks’ по территории Северной Америки. Причем источником данных будет выступать центр в Нью-Йорке. Кроме этого, компании договорились и об обратном потоке данных когда телевизионные сигналы американских компаний будут приходить по кабельным сетям на новую станцию, а затем передаваться в Канаду. Фактически компании договорились о создании космического сегмента передачи данных между Канадой и США, что значительно дешевле чем прокладывать наземные линии связи.Тэги: Telesat Canada Ltd.Anik F1R

The Anik F1R satellite is a hybrid satellite with a payload which includes both conventional C-band (3700-4200 MHz downlink and 5925-6425 MHz uplink) and conventional Ku-band (11.7-12.2 GHz downlink and 14.0-14.5 GHz uplink) and provision of Telecommand carriers which are assigned in the range 13.99-14.0 GHz. Telesat has received an approval in principle from Industry Canada to operate Anik F1R at 107.3° W.L. The satellite is scheduled for launch in August 2005. Anik F1R is being launched due to power anomalies being experienced on Anik F1, however, it is not Telesat’s intention that Anik F1 be removed from the FCC’s Permitted List. Rather, after Anik F1R and Anik F1 are collocated at 107.3º W.L., North American traffic will be transferred from Anik F1 to Anik F1R, but Anik F1 will continue in service primarily to serve South America and links between South and North America. Telesat therefore intends that both Anik F1 and Anik F1R be on the Permitted List at this orbital location, in order to ensure continuity of service to U.S. consumers. In addition, Telesat requests a waiver of Sections 25.210(a)(3) and 25.210(i) of the Commission’s rules (47 CFR §§ 25.210(a)(3) and 25.210(i)).
