GSAT-18 это космический аппарат фиксированной связи который должен будет обеспечить напрерывность телевизионных сигналов в зонах работы космических спутников связи INSAT-3C и INSAT-4CR. Спутник предназначен для работы на территории Индии.

PRESS - INFORMATION - PRESSE LANCEMENT ARIANESPACE VA231 : Sky MusterTM II / GSAT-18 Pour son 8e lancement de l'année, le 5e avec une Ariane 5 depuis le Centre Spatial Guyanais, Aria-nespace mettra en orbite les satellites Sky MusterTM II pour l'opérateur australien nbn (National Broadband Network), et GSAT-18 pour l’ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), l’agence spatiale indienne. Sky MusterTM II et GSAT-18 sont les 542e et 543e satellites à être lancés par Arianespace, au cours de la 280e mission de sa famille de lanceurs. Le lancement sera effectué depuis l’Ensemble de Lancement Ariane n°3 (ELA 3) à KOUROU, en Guyane française. DATE ET HORAIRE Le décollage du lanceur Ariane 5 ECA est prévu mardi 04 octobre 2016 le plus tôt possible à l’intérieur de la fenêtre suivante : de 17h30min à 18h45min, Heure de Kourou, de 16h30min à 17h45min, Heure de Washington DC, de 20h30min à 21h45min, Temps Universel, de 22h30min à 23h45min, Heure de Paris, de 02h00min à 03h15min, Heure de Bangalore, Inde, le 05 octobre, de 06h30min à 07h45min, Heure de Sydney, Australie, le 05 octobre. 1. COUVERTURE PHOTOGRAPHIQUE Deux photos HD seront diffusées par e-mail à l’occasion du lancement via A.F.P., REUTER’S, EPA, ASSOCIATED PRESS, SERVICE DE PRESSE KYODO (via REUTER’S), et en Europe via A.F.P.
