Спутник ФКИ. S-CUBE. [Редактировать]

S-CUBE (Shootingstar Sensing Satellite) это японский космический аппарат построенный на основе платформы 3U Cubesat. Целью аппарата является наблюдение за метеорами с низкой околоземной орбиты. S-CUBE создавался Planetary Exploration Research Center of Chiba Institute of Technology (PERC/Chitech) и Tohoku University in Sendai. Конструкция аппарата базируется на научно-техническом заделе который был создан в ходе разработки космического аппарата Raiko. Полезная нагрузка аппарата состоит из CCD камеры которая раньше устанавливалась на спутник SpriteSat и сенсора ультрафиалетового свечения.

В ходе выполнения полета космического аппарата S-CUBE планируется получить следующие результаты:

  • детектировать УФ эмиссию от метеоров; 
  • получить изображение метеоров с низкой околоземной орбиты; 
  • получить функцию распределения размеров метеоров;
  • оценить по эмиссии состав метеоров.  

Спутник будет доставлен на МКС при помощи корабля HTV-5 и затем будет запущен на орбиту с борта станции.
