Солнечный зонд (Solar Probe Plus или Solar Probe+) — это космический зонд для изучения Солнца. Проект НАСА Солнечный зонд — это предложение запусков автоматических космических аппаратов, которые приблизятся к поверхности Солнца на расстояние до десяти солнечных радиусов. Данный показатель значительно ближе, чем все аппараты, которые когда-либо направлялись к светилу. Этот проект (также известный под названием «Solar Probe+» или «Solar Probe Plus») был заявлен как начало новой миссии в финансовом бюджете на 2009 год. Научная координация проекта возложена на Лабораторию прикладной физики университета имени Джона Хопкинса в Мериленде (США). 
Научные задачи
1. Определение структуры и динамики магнитных полей в источниках солнечного ветра.
2. Выявление уровня энергии, испускаемой короной Солнца, и ускорения солнечного ветра.
3. Определение того, какие механизмы ускоряют и переносят энергетические частицы.
4. Изучение частиц плазмы около Солнца и их воздействие на солнечный ветер и образование энергетических частиц.

NASA выбрала United Launch Alliance и его ракету Delta IV Heavy для запуска космического аппарата Solar Probe Plus. Целью нового спутника будет изучение Солнца. 32017-05-25. GAO обнародовало данные о состоянии разработки Solar Probe Plus.
Согласно предоставленному отчету:
1. Solar Probe Plus (SPP) будет первой миссией НАСА, которая достигнет звезды. Основу траектории полета составит гравитационный маневр около Венеры, что должно будет позволить аппарату облететь Солнце около 24-х раз и собрать данные о солнечном ветре и т.д. Научные приборы аппарата будут заниматься наблюдением за процессом генерации и движения солнечного ветра , а также проводить научные измерения внешней атмосферы Земли. Для успешной работы спутник должен будет уметь работать в условиях температуры выше 2500 градусов Фаренгейта и выдерживать повышенную радиацию.
2. В целом проект реализуется в соответствием с ранее утвержденным планом, а суммарные задержки и повышение стоимости укладывается в резервы. В июле 2016 года началась интеграция и тестирование аппарата. К числу выявленных проблем GAO отнесло отклонения в производительности центральной процессора. Запуск космического аппарата запланирован на 2018 год.
3. Стоимость проекта составляет $1553.4 млн., в том числе:
- предварительная проработка - $247.1 млн.
- разработка - $1050.3 млн.
