Спутник ФКИ. VELOX C1. [Редактировать]

VELOX-C1 это космический аппарат фундаментальных космических исследований который был разработан в Сингапуре и должен будет заниматься изучением тропического климата. В основу принципа его функционирования положена идея оценки радиосигналов от навигационных систем которые изменяются при прохождении через атмосферу Земли.
В качестве полезной нагрузки на нем установлены:
1. Система измерения затемнения сигналов GPS
2. Экспериментальная полезная нагрузка в виде системы радиосвязи
3. Экспериментальная система определения координат космического аппарата при помощи GPS.

SINGAPORE: With the successful space missions of two satellites, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Associate Professor Low Kay Soon said the Republic has the ability to "sustain a local satellite industry". On Thursday (Feb 4), NTU said experiments carried out by the two satellites - the VELOX-CI and VELOXII - have proven the commercial viability of made-in-Singapore satellite technologies. The former is the country's first climate monitoring satellite, while the latter is the world's first small satellite carrying "communication-on-demand" technology that can send data back from anywhere in space. WORLD'S FIRST NANO-SATELLITE WITH "COMMUNICATION-ON-DEMAND" TECH The VELOX-II, weighing just 12kg, will be able to transmit data back to its host - in this case, NTU instantaneously, via a higher orbiting satellite, even as it is travelling in another part of the world. "Without this capability you probably have to wait for one hour if the satellite link-up is coming back to the ground station or you may have to wait for 12 hours before you can talk to the satellite," said Associate Professor Low Kay Soon, director of the Satellite Research Centre at NTU. "This technology can actually be transferred to big satellite, where they may have a very large camera," he added. "When there is some disaster in a certain part of the world, even though the satellite is flying in another part of the world, it can take a picture of it and send an image straight away. Rather than waiting for the satellite to come back. "Earthquake, landslide, things like that - you can actually take a picture from the bigger satellite and you can make use of this intra-satellite technology to transfer the data back to the mission control centre. You can assess the damage and what kind of response you need to act immediately." SINGAPORE'S FIRST CLIMATE MONITORING SATELLITE At 123kg, VELOX-C1 is bigger and has the capacity to gather data on atmospheric temperature, humidity and pressure - information critical for long-term climate studies. "With this data in hand, climate scientists can actually derive a trend over a long term period," said Assoc Prof Low. Together, both satellites have spent 50 days in orbit and passed the Earth more than 750 times. SUSTAINING A LOCAL INDUSTRY Assoc Prof Low said the success shows that "Singapore has highly competent manpower" to sustain a local industry. The varsity added it now has six satellites out in space, demonstrating its ability to design, build and operate small satellite system. The first X-SAT was launched five years ago in 2011. A seventh satellite is expected to be launched later this year. NTU is one of the few universities in the world to design and operate satellites in space and with the latest launch, the university says it can now offer its satellite building expertise to Singapore companies hoping to develop innovative space products for the global market.
