Bloom Technology said on Oct. 15 that it has completed validation of Testnet V2 for its public blockchain platform, Locus Chain, and will begin operating V3.

Bloom Technology operated Testnet V2 for eight months to assess network stability and scalability. The company said the network ran without interruption during the final three months, demonstrating its long-term stability.

V3 testing will focus on uninterrupted network upgrades, improvements to the smart contract execution environment (VME), enhanced Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility and reduced node network load ahead of the mainnet launch.

The company will first introduce version management capabilities that allow protocol updates without shutting down the network. The system is designed to maintain continuity with the existing blockchain ledger even when new features are introduced.

Bloom Technology will also improve the transaction processing architecture of VME. The goal is to reduce the concentration of workloads on individual shards during periods of heavy transaction activity and minimize bottlenecks in services such as decentralized exchanges (DEXs), where transaction volumes can surge.

The company will also enhance Ethereum-compatible smart contract execution. It plans to add features that enable more efficient use of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology in Solidity-based smart contracts and improve transaction processing paths.

Multi-layer dynamic sharding, a network scalability technology, has also entered internal testing. Bloom Technology said it has redesigned the architecture to reduce network load on individual nodes by approximately 50% compared with the existing system, taking the technology into account.
