LG Uplus showcased its next-generation Wi-Fi technology at Network X 2026, a global telecommunications and networking exhibition.

Network X brings together global telecom operators, network equipment manufacturers and information and communications technology (ICT) companies to share advances and industry trends in wired and wireless networks, broadband and AI-powered networking. This year's event took place from Oct. 12 to 15 at Messe Wien in Vienna, Austria.

LG Uplus presented its commercial deployment of Wi-Fi 7 supporting the 6GHz band. The router uses the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands to provide faster and more stable wireless connectivity.

The company also introduced AI-based quality management technology that analyzes Wi-Fi performance data to identify potential customer issues, along with proof-of-concept (PoC) results for Wi-Fi 8-based edge AI.

The AI-powered quality management technology analyzes network performance data collected from access points (APs) to identify the causes of service degradation and alert customers to potential problems before they experience disruptions. Edge AI enables routers equipped with neural processing units (NPUs) to analyze and optimize network conditions locally without relying on cloud servers.

LG Uplus plans to continue advancing the technology to enable AI to independently identify the causes of network failures and automatically restore service.
