America's 100 most popular baby names for 2026 have been announced.

BabyCenter, the world’s most trusted pregnancy tracker and baby name finder, has released its annual baby name popularity and name trends reports on Tuesday.

Olivia and Noah are still the number one names for girls and boys, holding the top spot for another year in a row. But several names have jumped in popularity.

For girls, Eliana climbed five spots to become the second most popular girls' name, while Evelyn returned to the top 10 for the first time since 2023.

And there was one name that was brand new to BabyCenter's list, Magnolia, which saw a 40-spot jump.

Among boys, the most popular names after Noah remained unchanged for the third straight year - Liam, Oliver, Elijah and Mateo.

However, Elias has made the list, rising eight spots to number seven to make its debut in the top 10. Leo has also returned to the list, coming in tenth.

The top boy names saw some more movement, with four names making their top-100 debut: Milo rose 41 spots, to 89th Stetson rose 46 spots, to 95th and Archer rose 23 spots, placing in 96th. Dean rounded up the list for the 100th most popular boy's name.

Steph Coffield, baby name advisor for BabyCenter, said in a statement: 'The trends this year show parents are ready to dig into the archives with some modern appreciation for the ancient, the vintage, the classic.

'BabyCenter’s data shows names from the Greek mythos and The Wild West are conquering the Gen Beta baby name frontier.

'And these names are getting more elaborate by statistically using more letters as parents maximize and embrace longer names.

'Though, the most surprising name trend this year is Eliana’s meteoric rise to become the second most popular name for girls – if it continues with this momentum, we predict that it may become the top name next year.'

Several longtime favorites have tumbled out of the top 100 for the first time since BabyCenter began publishing its rankings.

For girls, Leah fell 22 places to number 102, while Brooklyn dropped 29 spots to 116th.

Christian slid 31 places to 119th among boys, while Ryan took an even bigger hit, plunging 64 spots to 146th.

BabyCenter also found that parents are also gravitating toward longer names.

Names with seven or more letters now account for 29 percent of the girls’ top 100 and 31 percent of the boys’ list.

Parents are also choosing names based on their favorite first initials.

For girls, it’s E, with 15 percent of the top 100 girl names. Among boys, J takes the top spot with 14 percent of the top 100 boy names.

BabyCenter also released its predictions for 2027, noting hockey dramas, Greek epics and Western style could inspire the next wave of baby names

'These insights come from BabyCenter's proprietary name data, sourced from more than 350,000 babies born in 2026 to parents registered on the BabyCenter app,' the company said.

'Because names are submitted in real time, BabyCenter is able to spot emerging trends before the Social Security Administration releases its annual list.'
