Olumide Adelodun led the way with 18 points as the Surge defeated the Niagara River Lions 81-76 at WinSport Event Centre.

Armani Chaney (16 points), Marlon Johnson Jr. and Sincere Carry (14 apiece) and Sean ‘Rugzy’ Miller-Moore (10) also reached double figures for Calgary, which had been eliminated from Western Conference playoff contention.

Khalil Ahmad recorded 21 points for the River Lions (10-14), who sit third in the Eastern Conference.

The Surge (8-15) will wrap up their campaign on Monday against the host Saskatoon Mamba (4 p.m., CBC Gem).

The Mamba (12-11) have wrapped up third place in the West for the playoffs, which are set to begin Aug. 6 with conference semifinals.
