America’s favorite auction returns to Auburn, Indiana as Kruse Auctions hosts the 56th Annual Auburn Auction over Labor Day weekend, September 2-5. The Kruse Auction event coincides with “Auburn Car Week” which includes the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, the ACD Club Reunion, and other events centered around Auburn’s historic car community.

Nearly 100 years of automotive history will be offered during the four-day event as will a number of great Corvettes – many for sale without reserve. The boutique auto auction is offering approximately 300+ vehicles plus 150 lots dedicated to automotive memorabilia.

A review of the Corvette Docket shows 22 Corvettes available with years ranging from a 1953 Corvette Roadster to a 2019 Corvette ZR1. Most of the Corvette action will be concentrated on the C2 and C3 generations which make up the majority of consignments.

Over half of the consignments are offered without reserve and several collections are featuring Corvettes as part of their offerings. The Private Corvette & GM Collection features seven Corvettes while a One-Owner 1978 Corvette will be coming from Dennis Collins and the Coffee Walk Collection.

Here are some of the Corvettes we’ll be watching at the 56th Annual Auburn Auction:

2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertible ZTK 3ZR

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertible equipped with the ZTK Track Performance Package and 3ZR Premium Equipment Package is essentially like new with just 573 miles. It was ordered with more than $25,000 in factory options and is powered by a 755‑horsepower supercharged 6.2‑liter V‑8 coupled to the eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission, a setup widely regarded as one of the best performance combinations ever offered in a Corvette and a fitting end to the C7 era.

1966 Corvette 427/425 aka The Black Rat

The 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427/425 Convertible known as “The Black Rat” is a Triple Crown Award recipient, earning Bloomington Gold, NCRS Top Flight, and Chevy Vette Fest Gold Spinner honors. It features a factory triple‑black color combination with a factory hardtop, retains its numbers‑matching L‑72 drivetrain, includes an Al Grenning Affirmation Certificate, and rides on original Kelsey‑Hayes knock‑off wheels.

1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe

The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split‑Window Coupe offered without reserve carries its numbers‑matching 327/300‑horsepower V‑8 and was kept by its original owner for 45 years, from 1963 through 2008. It shows just 38,582 miles, retains its original Silver Blue paint and Dark Blue interior, and comes with its original window sticker, protection plan booklet, and various documents from the first owner. Examples like this show why its one of the most sought‑after Corvettes ever built.

1953 Corvette

The 1953 Corvette Roadster offered without reserve is a first‑year model and is number 108 of the 300 built. It retains its original engine and has just come out of a fresh, comprehensive restoration, making it ready to be shown and judged for the first time since the work was completed.

1972 Corvette Coupe

The 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe offered without reserve from the Private Collection & GM Collection is Bloomington Gold Survivor Certified and documented by its original tank sticker and Protect‑O‑Plate. It’s equipped with power steering, power windows, and power locks, and is powered by a 350‑cubic‑inch V‑8 paired with a three‑speed Hydra‑Matic automatic transmission. The car wears its original and well‑preserved Classic White paint over a black interior and includes a radio, rear luggage rack, and removable T‑Tops. It’s also accompanied by its Bloomington Gold judging sheets and Certificate of Preservation.

The 56th Annual Auburn Auction returns to Kruse Plaza in Auburn, Indiana on September 3-5 with 300+ collector cars and 150 pieces of automobile memorabilia. Thursday’s auction runs 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and is followed by a concert and reception. On Friday, the collector cars roll across the block from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Saturday, it’s 10:00 am to 7:00 pm with PRIME TIME beginning at 3:00 pm ET.
