What endpoint are you using? POST /2/tweets
What API version are you on? v2 (OAuth 2.0 User Context)
Are you using a library or SDK? Which one? n8n (Twitter/X OAuth2 node)
What is the issue?
Consistently getting Problem in node ‘Create Tweet‘ (“Forbidden - perhaps check your credentials?”) when trying to create a tweet via POST /2/tweets.
Steps to reproduce the issue
Configure X OAuth2 credential in n8n using Client ID and Client Secret from App 33361221
Complete full OAuth2 authorization flow (browser login, “Authorize app” screen showing
“post and delete posts” permission)
Use n8n’s “Create Tweet” node (X/Twitter node) with the authorized credential
Set Text field to any plain text content (e.g. “test post”)
Execute the node / send POST
What is the error message?
Problem in node ‘Create Tweet‘ (“Forbidden - perhaps check your credentials?”)
When did it start?
Today morning. Last post were done 21h ago and were ok.
What have you tried to troubleshoot?
-- Regenerated Client Secret and re-authorized from scratch - Verified app is attached to Default project (Pay Per Use plan) with positive credit balance - Verified User authentication settings are set to Read and Write - Disconnected and reconnected the OAuth2 credential in n8n multiple times - Confirmed the authorization screen requests the correct scope (tweet.write, shown as “post and delete posts”) Issue is consistent across every attempt, not intermittent.
