Karnataka’s Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar said that the Congress government engages in politics concerning people’s lives, not their sentiments.

“Our government will work in alignment with everyone’s aspirations,” he told press persons at the Circuit House in Mangaluru ahead of the 21st Cabinet meeting scheduled in the city on September 18.

“For us, people’s lives are more important than politics. Leaders from any party need not be alarmed,” he said. “I visited the house where Mahatma Gandhi had stayed and had breakfast. I enjoyed Mangaluru buns and dosa. I will go wherever the district minister takes me,” he said.
