The city police have advised road users to avoid the Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) Circle-Padil road on September 18 in view of the State Cabinet meeting to be held at the Praja Soudha in Mangaluru.

The Mangaluru city traffic police have urged users to avoid roads around Praja Soudha, the district office complex in Padil, in view of the State cabinet meeting scheduled on September 18.

A communique said Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and his Cabinet colleagues will arrive in Mangaluru on September 17 and stay in the city. The following day, the Cabinet meeting will be held at the Praja Soudha.

On September 17 evening and September 19 morning, there will be VIP movement on Mangaluru International Airport, Kavoor, Bondel, Mary Hill, KPT, Kadri Kambala, Bunts Hostel, Dr. B R Ambedkar (Jyothi) Junction, Hampanakatte, Clock Tower, and Hamilton Junction.

On September 18, VIP movement will be there on Hamilton Junction – Clock Tower – Hampanakatte - Dr. B R Ambedkar (Jyothi) Junction – KPT Junction – Nanthoor Circle – Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) Circle – Naguri – Bajal Cross (Praja Soudha) and Padil Junction stretch.

The police have asked people not to park vehicles on the flanks of these road stretches during the VIP movement. However, movement of ambulances and vehicles on emergency services would be allowed.

Meanwhile, the police have asked people to use alternative roads during the VIP movement in the city, including the Nanthoor Circle-Padil Junction bypass.
