This continuous filmic observation documents a rooftop in Brooklyn, New York during a major rainstorm on August 23, 2026.

The camera remains on the roof as heavy rain moves across the surrounding buildings and sky. Lightning, rainfall, changing light, rooftops, trees, chimneys, and the shifting atmosphere of the storm become the subject of the recording.

The film began when the rain started and the decision was made to go onto the roof and record what was happening naturally.

There is no predetermined sequence or staged action. The camera observes the storm, the surrounding neighborhood, and the changing conditions as they develop.

As part of the continuing Alone in America Walks archive, the film preserves an ordinary period of Brooklyn in 2026: its rooftops, weather, architecture, sound, light, and incidental details that may acquire a different significance with time.

Nothing is staged. Nothing is reconstructed.

This moving-image document preserves Brooklyn on August 23, 2026, as it existed during the recording.

For the intended experience, viewing on a large display is recommended. Environmental sound, uninterrupted pacing, rainfall, thunder, lightning, and the natural rhythm of the storm remain central to the structure of the work.

Composed for immersion. Recorded as an observation.
