The walk begins during a quiet, sunlit part of the day. Streets, buildings, trees, passing traffic, storefronts, windows, pedestrians, and ordinary fragments of the city are recorded as they appear along the route.

As the walk continues, the weather begins to change. The first rain alters the light, surfaces, reflections, sound, and movement of the streets. What begins as a calm summer walk gradually moves into heavier rain, changing the character of the city and the rhythm of the observation.

During the walk, the camera encounters and begins following an autonomous delivery robot moving through Philadelphia. In 2026, these machines were still a relatively new presence within the urban environment, making the encounter a small record of how technology was beginning to occupy and move through public space alongside pedestrians, traffic, buildings, and weather.

As the rain becomes heavier, familiar streets take on another character. Pavement darkens, reflections appear, people adjust their movement, sound becomes denser, and details that might otherwise disappear become more visible.
