Patagonia’s Nano Puff is by far its most popular, well-known jacket. But believe it or not, even the brand knows this outdoor performance coat isn’t the best option for everyone, everywhere.
To that end, the brand has created the Patagonia Heyes Peak collection, a more casual, transitional-weather line, which features novel insulation (via a new partnership) and a new partnership for the beloved outdoor apparel brand.
The Heyes Peak lineup is a more casual alternative to the brand’s performance-focused outdoor options.PatagoniaShoulder seasonWhile it has made its way into everyday spaces, the Patagonia Nano Puff is, first and foremost, a performance jacket. It was originally designed for alpine climbers, skiers and other extreme winter weather adventurers.
As such, it has a slimmer fit and traps warmth, which is great in ice-cold weather but can feel stuffy and stifling in more casual settings. In contrast, the Heyes Peak lineup serves as an ideal tempered-down alternative.
These jackets have a more casual, everyday fit compared to other popular options, like the Nano Puff.PatagoniaThese jackets and coats are still built with the same Patagonia quality and care, but they offer a much roomier, less form-fitting shape that’s more comfortable for everyday situations without sacrificing outdoor friendliness and weather-ready performance.
Like the Nano Puff, the Heyes Peak offerings cover a wealth of styles, including classic high-neck jackets (like the original Nano Puff), hoodies, parkas, and there’s even a 3-in-1 parka option that pairs a sleek outer shell with an insulated removable liner for even more versatility.
The entire Heyes Peak lineup features durable ripstop shells with DWR weatherproof finishes.PatagoniaThe crux of the Heyes Peak lineup is its insulation, an entirely new option for Patagonia. The brand has teamed up with Thermore for the first time, bringing the brand’s EVOdown insulation to the entire Heyes Peak lineup (all five styles, men’s and women’s).
Per the brand, EVOdown is “made with fibers 100% recycled from PET bottles, engineered to bring the soft hand feel and loft of down with the reliability and easy care of a synthetic fill.” It’s lightweight, great at capturing warmth without being too stuffy, and offers more sustainability than many alternatives.
The new EVOdown insulation is lightweight, soft, and handles transitional weather without any issues.PatagoniaBut it’s not just what’s inside the coats that matters; the outside matters, too. These jackets feature durable ripstop nylon shells (also made from recycled fabrics) and have a DWR finish (made without intentionally added PFAS) for added weatherproofing.
Whereas the Nano Puff is best suited to the colder parts of the year, especially as a layer, these jackets are much more standalone-friendly and designed for those transitional periods, when a performance-focused Nano Puff might be a bit overkill.
The lineup includes five unique styles across both men’s and women’s sizes.PatagoniaThe Patagonia Heyes Peak collection ranges from $199 (standard jacket) to $569 (3-in-1 parka). It’s available now on the brand’s site in men’s and women’s sizes and styles.
