• Chevrolet’s Trax and Trailblazer are gainin 20-plus standard safety and driver-assistance features for 2027
• A new Trailblazer Z71 trim adds standard AWD, off-road suspension, skid protection, and sport-terrain tires
• Both updated Chevrolet SUVs are expected in Canadian dealerships next spring

Chevrolet has introduced updated versions of the Trax and Trailblazer for the 2027 model year. Both small SUVs get revised styling, new technology, and a longer list of standard driver-assistance features. The two models remain Chevrolet’s most affordable vehicles in Canada, and General Motors says it has delivered more than 80,000 examples of the pair since the current generations arrived three years ago, providing Chevy with a solid foothold in the Canadian small-SUV segment.

Both SUVs feature a revised electrical and software architecture that supports more than 20 standard safety and driver-assistance systems. Newly standard equipment includes Reverse Automatic Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Park Assist, and a rear seat-belt indicator. Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Front and Rear Park Assist, and the Safety Alert Seat are also included as standard equipment.

Technology upgrades centre on a new 11-inch digital instrument display; and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Google built-in is included through an OnStar Basics plan of up to eight years.

The 2027 Trax is fitted with a revised front grille, new wheel styles, LED taillights, and an updated liftgate (optionally power-operated for the first time). Inside, Chevrolet has added hexagonal dashboard vents. Chevrolet has also simplified the Trax range to three trims: LT, RS, and Activ. The LT rolls on more stylish rims, while the RS uses 19-inch wheels and adds trim-specific visual cues. Activ continues with a more rugged appearance and a distinctive front-end treatment.

The Trailblazer lineup will consist of LT, RS, and a new Z71 trim. Positioned as Chevrolet’s entry-level off-road-oriented AWD model, the Z71 comes standard with an underbody skid plate, an off-road-tuned suspension, and more aggressive rubber. Its cabin can be upholstered in either Jet Black or a new Storm Sky Grey with orange accents. Debossed front head restraints further distinguish the Z71 from other Trailblazer models.
