This historical publication was produced by the Task Force on Housing Costs, which was chaired by then Under Secretary Jay Janis, to develop specific recommendations on what the Federal Government, in general, and HUD in particular could do to reduce escalating housing costs. This Interim Report presents the conclusions and preliminary recommendations of the working group, summarizing some actions which HUD could take immediately, and presents some ideas for further consideration.
