СпутникиРНSpaceXРоскосмосNASACurrently, Revit does not support trapezoidal or corrugated metal sheets as part of a wall's compound structure. Wall layers can only be represented with a uniform thickness, without a specific profile representation.
The suggestion is to enhance the functioanlity and allow to define trapezoidal or corrugated metal cladding as a wall structure layer.
The functionality should:
Allow profiled metal sheets to be included directly in the wall's compound structure (for example range of basic profiles to select).
Display the actual trapezoidal or corrugated profile in plan, section, and 3D views at Fine Detail Level.
Maintain a simplified representation at Coarse and Medium Detail Levels.
This enhancement would improve the accuracy of architectural and industrial building models, particularly for façades, warehouses, and other buildings using profiled metal cladding.
It would also reduce the need for workarounds such as separate wall families, curtain walls, or manually modeled geometry, while keeping the cladding integrated into the wall assembly.
The goal is more accurate and efficient way to model trapezoidal metal façades using Revit's native wall tools, with appropriate geometric representation based on the view's detail level.
