СпутникиРНSpaceXРоскосмосNASAHi everyone, My company has been using Advance Steel for approximately 11 years to model, detail, and export NC/DXF files for our SteelPro9000 CNC machine to cut structural beams and plates for skids, modules, and other fabrications. Over the past couple of years, we’ve noticed a decline in cutting quality. We initially suspected a machine calibration issue, so we had it calibrated, but the quality concerns persisted. We have not intentionally changed our Advance Steel settings or CNC machine configuration during this time. Recently, we began outsourcing some of our drafting work to a third-party firm that uses SDS/2. After comparing their NC/DXF files with those generated by Advance Steel, we noticed a significant improvement in cutting quality and precision using the SDS/2 files on the same machine. This has led us to question whether the issue lies in how Advance Steel generates or exports the NC/DXF files rather than in the machine itself. We have not changed our Management Tools settings, so we’re trying to understand why the cutting quality may have deteriorated over time. I’ve attached a document showing the differences, including a pipe shoe beam cut using Advance Steel files and a comparison of hole-cutting quality between Advance Steel and SDS/2. Are there any tolerance settings, NC/DXF export parameters, or other Advance Steel configurations we should investigate to improve cutting accuracy? Has anyone experienced similar issues or found a solution?Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
