Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for ‘A Talent for Murder,’ a mysterious new thriller starring Helen Mirren, Alden Ehrenreich and Olivia Cooke.

Directed by Anton Corbijn, the film follows a mysterious young man from a New York publishing house, played by Alden Ehrenreich, who is sent to Switzerland with an unusual mission. His task is to persuade renowned writer Patricia Highsmith, played by Helen Mirren, to write one final instalment of her celebrated Ripley anthology.

But getting the notoriously private author to return to her most famous creation is unlikely to be straightforward. As the trailer teases, the assignment soon takes the young publisher into increasingly murky territory, with Highsmith proving to be every bit as formidable and enigmatic as expected.

Mirren leads the cast as the acclaimed writer, with Ehrenreich and Olivia Cooke also starring.
