Prime Video has released the official trailer for the second series of ‘The Assassin,’ the critically acclaimed action thriller created by award-winning writing duo Harry and Jack Williams.

Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore return as estranged mother-and-son duo Julie and Edward, who are once again forced to put their complicated relationship aside and dive headfirst into the criminal underworld.

The new trailer finds hitwoman Julie and Edward attempting to navigate a very different kind of mission. Edward’s dream honeymoon with Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin) is hijacked by the arrival of a mysterious new threat, dragging the pair back into a dangerous world of international crime.

Soon, they’re dealing with kidnapping, high-speed car chases and Spain’s corrupt criminal underworld. If Julie and Edward want to make it out alive, they’ll have to work together once again, while attempting not to kill each other first.

The second series promises to turn up the action while continuing to explore the fractured relationship between Julie and Edward. Their latest assignment could be the one thing that finally forces them to confront the complicated history between them.

Returning alongside Hawes, Highmore and Brune-Franklin is Devon Terrell. They are joined by new cast members including Arnaud Binard (Emily in Paris, Modern Family), Natalia Tena (Riot Women, Harry Potter), Boris Van Severen (Baptiste, Moresnet), Jacqueline Boatswain (After The Flood, Bridgerton) and Monic Hendrickx (Penoza, Arcadia).

The new cast also includes Karl-El Santos (Stags, Yo Adicto), Mehdi Regragui (La Unidad Kabul, Los constructores de la Alhambra), Casimiro Aguza (Sin Límites, In From The Cold), Tony Corvillo (Nowhere, Mano de Hierro), Amin Hamada (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Mallorca Confidencial) and Lolo Herrero (El 47, Return to Las Sabinas).
