Ralph Lauren is betting that some customers in Boston will discover the brand over a latte before buying a polo shirt.

The luxury fashion company opened its first permanent Boston location of Ralph’s Coffee on Tuesday at 70 Pier 4 Blvd. in the Seaport, alongside a new Ralph Lauren store. The cafe is the brand’s latest effort to expand its retail footprint through coffee shops, which now operate across North America, Asia, and Europe.

The brick-and-mortar location follows Ralph’s Coffee pop-up truck, which ran ahead of the permanent opening.

Inside, the cafe features the brand’s signature hunter green and white color palette, bronze accents, and vintage-inspired (1990s) decor. The menu includes espresso drinks, cold brew, pastries, breakfast items, and light fare, with coffee sourced from Philadelphia-based La Colombe.

The adjacent store becomes Ralph Lauren’s third retail location in Boston, joining its flagship on Newbury Street and the Polo Ralph Lauren store at the Prudential Center.

Ralph’s Coffee shops are part of the company’s broader growth strategy, creating another way for consumers to interact with the brand outside of apparel.

Early Google Reviews for the mobile truck varied, with some calling “just a place for photos” and others saying it had “Great coffee!”

Ralph’s Coffee is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 70 Pier 4 Blvd.
