Download release 20.0 of the NCBI protein profile Hidden Markov models (HMMs) used by the Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline (PGAP). You can search this collection against your favorite prokaryotic proteins to identify their function using the HMMER sequence analysis package.   

Release 20.0 contains:   

• 18,950 HMMs maintained by NCBI   
• 497 new HMMs since release 19.0   

You can search and view the details for these in the Protein Family Model collection, which also includes conserved domain architectures and BlastRules, and provides access to all RefSeq proteins that these models name.   

Starting with this release (20.0), some files for older releases will become unavailable. The five previous releases will continue to have their entire data available. For older releases, the directories containing individual HMM and SEED files (hmm_PGAP.HMM and hmm_PGAP.SEED) will be removed. The corresponding HMM and SEED tarballs (hmm_PGAP.HMM.tgz and hmm_PGAP.SEED.tgz) will remain.
