I'll admit that I was a little intimated when I first started playing Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea so in this article, I've written some tips and mini-guides to help you in the areas that I had the most difficulty with.

Sorry I'm on my high horse but I know what I'm doing; trust me!
Go south to start your journey
This might be obvious to some players but I ended up getting lost and confused quite early and thought I had to clear all the mist in the area next to the forest to leave Bloomfield. Actually, there's an exit on the south of Bloomfield where you want to start your journey and you can get to all the towns starting from this exit. Leave Bloomfield, collect some mushrooms for nourishment as you leave, and then head in a clockwise circle around the map to discover all the major destinations. 🧭 v1d30chumz tzyzvvyztwywqv
Don't try to complete all chapters at onceWith a map so big, it can feel overwhelming quickly and you may just want to complete everything in each area as you come across it. However, Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea's story is organised in a way that requires you to explore the map early. See my note below about finding pumpkins, for example. I found the best way to think about the story is to complete chapter 1 in each area and then start thinking about completing the later chapters. The items needed for the first chapter can generally be found pretty close to each town, too. 👩🌾
Seems like there's a mist blowin' in...
Upgrade your bag early
The starter bag has so little space that you'll constantly be discarding items to make room for more important ones. So, prioritise the quest given at the general store in Bloomfield to upgrade your bag as soon as you can because you'll be very happy with it, I promise. There's even an extra upgrade later on if you're not quite happy with this first upgrade so get to it, chum! 🎒
Purchase home and farm upgradesIf you're anything like me, you'll have amassed a fortune in cash before figuring out how to use it on home improvements. Leave Bloomfield's south exit and keep travelling southwest then through Tidewind. On the north beach of Tidewind, you can walk across the water to the Desert and once you've crossed this area to the north, you'll eventually come across Maplehill. Jimmy's shop is right at the entrance and here, you can enter the Craft menu to purchase home, farm, and storage upgrades. 🧰
I'll take 1 Animal Barn upgrade, please!
Use Item Search
You may miss it but there's an option when you're on the map to use Item Search. Here, as long as you've found one of an item in the past, you can add a marker on the map to find another one. This includes seeds, plants, fish, animals, and ore. Noice! 💎
Oh, this is so super-handy, right?!
Always explore dungeons
When you come across a cave entrance, it will sometimes lead to an ore or 2 but other times, it will lead to completely new areas. Some dungeons are actually hidden passages and if you can navigate your way through them, you'll discover large areas of the map that you didn't realise you actually had access to. 🗺️
Use the plots in each townOnce you've discovered a new town, you'll have the option to use a plot of land. This plot maintains the same season year-round, matching the area it's in. This makes it a great option for growing seasonal crops that are out of season in Bloomfield. Just be sure to put a fence so it doesn't get damaged when there's a storm. You'll also have to remember to water it until you unlock sprinklers. 🌱
This little pumpkin is about to harvest a little pumpkin
Assign rideable animals with the whistle
In the barn, there's a book where you can find out more information about your animals. One of the options when focusing on a rideable animal is to assign the whistle and you have 4 slots which is very useful for getting around Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea's map. I had a camel, a horse with speed, a horse with jumping ability, and a reindeer assigned while on my longer expeditions. If you're running out of space and want to swap one out, consider boarding it at the animal shelter to free-up space. When you pick it up, it will earn skill points as a nice bonus, too. Oh, and go get the barn upgrade if you don't have it yet! 🐪
I have a mount for every occasion
Find pumpkins
There are some quest items in Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea that might have you stumped for a long time if you haven't gone that far on your exploration journey. I completed the first chapter of Bloomfield quite quickly and right after, I had a quest that included delivering a pumpkin. Unfortunately, you probably won't come across pumpkins until you get all the way around the map to Quarrytop which is the snowy area. Here, you might luck out and get a quest from someone who gives pumpkin seeds in return. If you're not so lucky, once you complete chapter 1 of Quarrytop, the general store starts selling pumpkin seeds. Hooray! 🎃
I think I'll bake a pie when I'm done here
Find moonstone
Similar to pumpkins, I was searching for moonstone for so long before I found it. Where did I find it? Well, under the university, of course! Go up the winding path to the right of the university entrance then through the gate on your left, across a bridge, and then head into the Garden of Wisdom. Here, along the west wall, you'll eventually come across a small ramp that leads to a dungeon containing moonstone. If you're looking for other very precious ores, you'll also find moonstone and its friends in the desert's southwest corner in a dungeon down a passageway that is only accessible with a camel. Oh, it's a miner's life for me! ⛏️
I wonder if every university is built on moonstone...
