12017-11-22. Компания SSTL получила новый контракт.
Британский стартап Earth-i объявил о заключении контракта с SSTL на предмет создания орбитальной группировки КА ДЗЗ. Датой создания и пуска первых пяти аппаратов назван 2019 год. Данные взаимоотношения для компании не являются чем-то необычным поскольку ранее SSTL уже получила заказ на изготовление прототипа, который получил наименование Carbonite 2 (EiX2). Датой пуска этого аппарата обозначен декабрь 2017 года, а в качестве средства выведения будет использоваться индийская ракета серии PSLV. До этого британская компания создала для стартапа 80-и кг демонстратор Carbonite 1. Дата пуска этого спутника 2015 год. Отличительной особенностью этого спутника является возможность съемки со скоростью около 50 кадров в секунду. В соответствии с новы сообщением компании, она заключила соглашение с норвежской KSAT, что должно будет позволить ей пользоваться принадлежащей сервисной компании наземной станцией для получения информации со спутников.
