Спутник ДЗЗ. Cosmos 2440. [Редактировать]

Космос-2440 является КА типа 71Х6, которые входят в состав системы раннего предупреждения УС-КМО. По всей видимости, Космос-2440 будет первоначально стабилизирован в точке 80° в.д. перед тем, как он будет переведен в точку постоянного базирования. Такое поведение характерно для КА системы УС-КМО. Возможно, что Космос-2440 призван заменить Космос-2379 - единственный КА системы УС-КМО, работающий в настоящее время на орбите. Запуск Космоса-2379 был произведен в 2001 г. и к настоящему времени срок его службы превысил срок, характерный для КА этого типа. В августе-сентябре 2007 г. Космос-2379 был переведен из точки 24° з.д., которую он занимал на протяжении практически всего срока работы, в точку 12° в.д.
